Purpose of the role overview
We are currently in the midst of implementing a finance system across the Portman Group and due to several recent acquisitions, there is a need to hire additional resource to assist. The key purpose of this role with the main goal of accelerating the delivering of the project and to support the overall finance system.


Accountabilities
• Working with finance stakeholders across the group to understand requirements and deliver solutions within the new finance product
• Support existing and new users for both finance products and services
• Contact and liaise with helpdesk and support and resolve issues
• Establish a working relationship with third parties
• To provide support to the Project Manager
• Assist the project lead with planning such as milestones, timelines, risk analysis
• Understanding requirements and delivering a valid solution

Job requirements

• Experience of using/implanting Unit 4 Financials
• Knowledge of implementing finance products
• Basic financial/accounting understanding
• Dealing with large transactional volumes of data
• Willing to drive change both cultural as well as driving out legacy process
• Able to work under pressure and to tight month end deadlines
• Intermediate Excel skills is a must
• Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office, and in particular Excel
• Knowledge of back office systems
• Must adapt well to change; and successfully set and adjust priorities as needed
• Ability to work within a team environment to achieve team/department objectives
• Ability to think logically, consider all relevant aspects
• Problem solving skills
• Strong communication skills
• Translating requirements and processes to an implementation journey
• Training users new elements of the product to a successful outcome
